Product Review: ThisWorks no wrinkles tired eyes from Bath & Unwind

A little while ago I received an email from Bath & Unwind inviting me to become a member of their new Tried and Tested Beauty Panel. Bath & Unwind is a fantastic online shopping site, that sells all the big beauty brands you can think of, and then some, and best of all is that they ship free worldwide too – so I naturally excitedly accepted this amazing opportunity. This means that I over the coming months regularly will be featuring some amazing products available from Bath & Unwind. Here are my thoughts on the *ThisWorks no wrinkles tired eyes;

What They Say:
"A rejuvenating serum designed to help stimulate and brighten tired skin around the delicate eye area."

"Applied daily, it helps deliver 24-hour hydration and protection to the eye contour, whilst helping repair the signs of existing damage. Overnight, it works to accelerate skin recovery, revitalising and cooling to counteract the effects of inadequate sleep. Extract of Persian silk tree helps detoxify the skin whilst manilkara leaf enhances elasticity. Gentle hyaluronic acid helps infuse moisture and smooths the skin whilst retinyl palmitate boosts collagen production and shields against UV damage during the day. The eye area is left soothed, alert and with the visible signs of fatigue reduced."

What I Say:
There is no denying that I am not getting all the sleep I need. I have a five month old baby, and although he is such a sweetheart and sleeps though the night, I find that I no longer sleep as well, always keeping an ear out for him. And at the age where fine lines and wrinkles have already set it, I can thereby add tired looking eyes to the list as well.

ThisWorks claims to be a stimulating complex to help reduce the signs of fatigue, and be a defence against tired, puffy eyes and dark circles that repairs while you sleep. Sound just what I need. And with a brand name ‘ThisWorks’ I expected big things too, maybe finally the cream that lives up to its claims!

The eye cream is free from phthalates, sulphates, synthetic fragrances and colours, parabens, and mineral oil, which immediately gets my tick of approval, as it is always fantastic when your cream is free from all these chemical nasties.

The eye cream comes in a lovely modern grey plastic pump bottle. The bottle almost looks like it is made from glass. The pump is airtight, which I love, as it is so much more hygienic.

The pump makes it easy to dispense just the amount of cream needed, without any wastage. And not much cream is needed as the cream is so concentrated that it only takes a little.

The cream has a very light texture and is easy to pad into the skin, and it absorbs into quickly the skin too, although it does leave it a little tacky for a little while, but as this is a night eye cream, and you don’t follow by applying makeup, I don’t really mind. Once fully absorbed into the skin, it leaves the eye area velvety soft to the touch.

The eye cream has a floral, yet slightly strange scent, yet it is so gentle that it doesn’t irritate my otherwise sensitive eyes, and this scent does fade quickly once the cream has absorbed into the skin.

I have only been using this cream for a few nights, so it is a little difficult to say how efficient it really is, but my first impressions are very impressive. Instantly I can see that the area around my eyes are rehydrated, so the skin looks more soft and smooth, and fine lines seem to be plumped out. I still wake with wrinkles and bags under my eyes, and my eyes still look tired, because, deep down I am a little tired – but no cream, regardless of how good is, is an instant miracle working in such a short period of time. But already after a few days of use I love what this eye cream does to my eye area, so I have big hopes that This Works!
