What I Say:
I have heard and read a lot of positive reviews about the Korres products, but never had the opportunity to trial them, so I was very excited when Bath & Unwind offered me the opportunity to trial this gift pack with a selection of the Korres products. "Korres is a Greek skincare brand born out of Athens’ first ever homeopathic pharmacy in 1996. The company strives to develop innovative and clinically effective skincare products based on natural active ingredients, to promote natural ingredients research in relation to skin biochemistry, and to project the unique Greek flora benefits through the cooperation with local farmers, and the production of the brand-owned high value organic extracts."
Guava Body Butter
The Korres Guava Body Buttercomes in a full-sized tube with a flip lid and it is a very rich cream intended for dry skin, and although I don’t have particularly dry skin on my body, I immediately fell in love with this gorgeous cream. In spite of being a body butter, which is often thick and slightly greasy, this body butter has a lighter creamy texture, and it absorbs instantly into the skin, leaving it soft and thoroughly moisturised, and without leaving behind a greasy residue. After a few uses I can not only feel but also see that my skin is benefitting from the natural goodness in this cream. It is silky soft and subtle, and looks healthy and glowing. The Guava Body Butter contains a blend of tropical fruits extracts including guava and grape their high source of vitamin C to stimulate collagen synthesis and quince extract encourages restructuring action. It also contains sweet almond oil, sunflower and avocado oil to nourish the skin, and shea butter for its moisturising properties.
The Body Butter has a lovely tropical scent, no doubt coming from the guava , and I love that this scent lingers on my skin for quite a while. I also love the fact the Body Butter it doesn’t contain silicones, parabens, SLES, SLS, Phthalates, mineral oils, in fact, the list of all the harsh chemicals that are not included in this cream goes on and on.
This Korres Rose 24-hour Moisturising & Brightening Cream is a generous sample size and comes in a small tube with screw lid.
The cream is promises to moisturise the skin for 24 hour thanks to the water retaining capacity of the desert plant imperata cylindrica. It contains among others wild rose oil to repair the skin from fine lines and skin colour disorders, and prevent brown spots, as well as it contains SPF6 to protect the skin from the sun.
Like the Body Butter, the Moisturising & Brightening Cream is also free from silicone, parabens, and mineral oils.
When I try out a new moisturiser, I am always afraid that it will make my blemish prone skin breakout, and especially when I hear that it offers 24 hours moisture, I straight away fear that it is thick and very heavy. I have only been using this cream for a few goes, but I can already tell that I won’t need to worry about the cream making my skin break out. The cream is light and absorbs quickly into the skin, leaving the very soft, yet with without feeling greasy or making my skin feel congested. It works perfectly under makeup too.
The cream has a lovely scent of rose, which luckily I really like as this scent does linger around for a while, even after the cream has absorbed into my skin.
Because I have only been using the cream for a few goes, it is too soon to tell if it lives up to its claims of brightening and evening out the skin tone, but first impressions are very good!
So far my only negative on this cream is that it only contains SPF6 – it is now summer in Australia, and the sun is extremely harsh, so ideally it should contain a much higher SPF.
The Hand Cream is of course also free from among others silicones, mineral oils, phthalates, parabens.
With two dogs and a baby I wash my hands countless times during the day, to get rid of dog slobber and after changing nappies, and consequently my hands are always dry.
Intensive hand creams often leave the hands feeling greasy, but this Nourishing Almond Oil & Shea Butter Hand Cream absorbs quickly into the skin, leaving the hands feeling soft and smooth, and without leaving my hands greasy, so I don’t have to fear that I leave greasy fingerprints everywhere.
The Hand Cream has a lovely sweet scent without being too sickly sweet, and like the other products lingers around for a bit, but as I really like the scent, I really like that, and in fact I can’t stop smelling my hands all the time. Unfortunately my dogs also love the scent, so they constantly try to lick my hands after I’ve used it! I am so in love with this hand cream, so it has already taken up residence next to my computer so I can keep my hands soft throughout the day.
The Korres Mandarin Lip Butter Stick
is a coloured full sized lip butter stick with SPF15. It contains among others shea butter and sunflower wax to nourish, and mandarin oil to condition dry lips. It has a nice delicate orangey scent from the mandarin oil, and compared to the other Korres products this scent is very faint.
The lip butter is easy to apply to the lips, and you can immediately feel its moisturising properties. It feels comfortable to wear and is non sticky.
The colour Rose is a dark red and on the lips it does give a sheer red colour almost like a lipgloss. This can be blended out to be more subtle, as well as it can also be built up to a more intense colour by adding a few more layers.
The Lip butter stays on the lips for a few hours, although less if I drink or eat anything, and the colour just gradually and naturally fades. And even when it has worn off, my lips feels incredibly soft and smooth.
With a baby, and no longer having as much time to do my makeup, my look is often very casual these days, and hence I tend to use more lip glosses and tinted lip balms as I find them more suitable – and this Korres Lip Butter will be a welcome edition this summer giving my lips a pop of colour while keeping them moisturised and protected from the sun. I'm in love with this Lip Butter, and already keen to get my hands on a few more colours!
