PRODUCT REVIEW: OPI NORDIC COLLECTION

I love OPI Nail Polishes, so when I heard of the new Nordic Collection, I naturally got excited. And even more so as being Danish, this collection just felt so close to home.

What They Say:

Inspired by the great northern lights in Finland, deep blue fjords in Norway, and colorful houses in Copenhagen, Nordic Collection by OPI brings the diverse colours of its namesake region to nails and toes. This new collection of 12 lacquers features a palette ranging from spicy browns in shades of bronze, cinnamon and caramel to rich purples in wine, black cherry and blue-violet hues, with accents of creamy coral, pink and sea green.

RRP: $19.95 – Available from David Jones, Myer and selected beauty salons

What I Say:

I am not very good at doing manicures. To be quite honest, I really suck at it. I always get it everywhere, and struggle to get an even finish. And then I can rarely sit still for the few minutes it takes these days for it to dry completely, so I usually end up with it being scuffed more or less immediately.

However, the OPI nail polishes, do make it easier to achieve a nice results as the wide brush and the formula of the polish just applies so nice and evenly, with just two coats required.

And I really love, and give the polishes bonus points for being 3-free – that is, for not containing DBP, Toluene, or Formaldehyde.

The collection boast 12 gorgeous shades including;

  • Going My Way or Norway
  • Ice-Bergers & Fries

The OPI Nordic collection hence includes warm metallic in cinnamon and toffee hues and pastels of blue-violet, creamy coral and sea greens as well as dark purples and reds.

Here I’m wearing (of course!!) How Great is Your Dane with two coats – and yep, in case you were wondering, I am fluent in Danish!!

As always, OPI wears really well, and I manage to get four to five days from a manicure if I use a top coat, which personally I find quite good.

I absolutely love the colours in the Nordic Collection and wouldn’t mind adding a few more of the colours to my collection. My only complaint is that I do find the colours more suitable for use during autumn and winter being a little dark – so really they would be perfect for wear in the Nordic Countries right now as they head towards autumn. But… as I still love the colours I will still be wearing them during the Australian spring and summer, and besides, the colours were perfect to wear during my recent trip back to Denmark, so on the other hand, timing couldn’t be better..
