PRODUCT REVIEW: MAYBELLINE NEW YORK SUPERSTAY BETTER SKIN FOUNDATION

Today I'd like to share with you my thoughts on the newly launched *Maybelline New York SuperStay Better Skin Foundation;

What They Say:
Maybelline New York SuperStay Better Skin Foundation is a liquid foundation that promotes skin regeneration and evens skin discolouration for a healthy, more radiant glow. The foundation has been formulated with vitamin B5 + septonic M3, magnesium, zinc and copper to hydrate and plump the skin. It also features a SPF 14 formula which helps to protect skin from sun damage. The foundation provides a full and comfortable, long-lasting coverage.

RRP: $21.95 (30ml) – Available from Priceline, supermarkets and selected pharmacies

What I Say:
The foundation promises to promote skin regeneration and even skin discolouration, and thanks to the added ingredients it claims to hydrate and plump the skin, - so technically, the more you wear it, the more your skin should improve.

The foundation comes in a glass bottle with a handy pump, which makes it easy to use and dispense just the amount you need. It has next to no scent, and the consistency makes it easy to apply and blend evenly into the skin both with your fingers and with a foundation brush.

It gives the skin a medium coverage and easily covers minor pigmentation, redness, blemishes and scars, and if needed, it can be built up to a fuller coverage where needed yet without looking cakey or heavy. Darker marks and blemishes however still need the help of a concealer.

The foundation feels very comfortable and moisturising on the skin, and gives the skin a nice even semi-matte look with a nice glow, and surprisingly it lasts more or less all day on my combination skin, without changing colour or settling into fine lines. In saying that, this is during winter, so I am not sure how it would perform during summer when my skin generally gets a little greasier.

The foundation blended...

I was trialling the colour Sand, which is a touch on the dark side for my medium beige skintone, but being in the midst of winter, I am also at my palest right now, and come spring and I get a little colour in my face, the colour will be perfect.

In regards to the claim that the foundation will give you ‘Better Looking Skin in 3 weeks’ I am not too sure, as I am yet to see any significant improvement, however, the way I see it, is that it can only be a bonus that it contains anti-ageing ingredients and cares for my skin as I wear it. And as an added bonus it also comes with SPF 20 to help protect the skin from the sun’s harsh rays.

Overall, I like this foundation and how it makes my skin look more even, yet without making it look too made up. It has a great coverage, as I am always struggling to get a foundation to stay put on my skin all, I really like the staying power too. At just $21.95 this a great bargain buy and I can easily see myself purchasing this again.
