Product Review:Arbonne RE9 Advanced Corrective Eye Crème

Sadly I am at the age where I cannot skip using an eye cream. The fine lines have set in, and so have the bags under my eyes, and well, with a 12 week old boy, in spite of him being such a good boy and sleeping through the night, every night without failure, I no longer sleep so well, and certainly no longer get my 7 hours of solid beauty sleep. This also means that dark circles around my eye area have crept in as well – so finding the right eye crème to help minimise these signs is very important to me. Here are my thoughts on the *Arbonne RE9 Advanced Corrective Eye Crème;

What They Say:
"Exclusive blend supports collagen, reducing puffiness and diminishing dark circles."

RRP: $77.00 (15ml) – Available from Arbonne

What I Say:

I have recently tried a few products from Arbonne, including the Perfecting Liquid Foundation and the RE9 Advanced Regenerating Toner, and both were amazing products, so I was very excited to be trialling the Eye Crème from the RE9 range as well.
The Arbonne RE9 Advanced Corrective Eye Crème contains among others algae extract, marine lavender extract, alfalfa seed extract and hydrolysed lupine protein, and it has its name because it combines 9 major age-defying elements and botanicals to help improve the look of firmness and elasticity in the skin around the eye area, improve the radiance and overall appearance of the skin, and not to mention reduce the appearance of puffiness and dark circles. Sounds just like what my tired eyes need.

The Arbonne RE9 Advanced Corrective Eye Crème has been formulated without the use of formaldehyde-donating preservatives, gluten or parabens, which always gets bonus points from me. And it has also been allergy tested and dermatologist tested.

I have quite sensitive eyes, that easily water and get irritated, so one of the most important things for me is that an eye cream is gentle and isn’t too strongly perfumed so it causes any irritation to my eyes –but I am happy to say that this eye crème is so gentle and didn’t cause any issues what so ever.

The actual cream is light, soft and creamy, and easy to apply to the eye area, and you can instantly feel how hydrating it is – but consequently it also takes a few minutes before it has been completely absorbed into the skin. But once absorbed, it leaves the eye area feeling so soft and smooth, and so thoroughly hydrated, yet without feeling greasy or sticky.

Applying my makeup afterwards, it is like the eye crème acts as a primer preventing my makeup from settling into lines and creases, even throughout the day, it keeps my eye area moisturised, and my makeup looking nice.

It comes in a bright orange bottle with a pump, which I really like as it is so much more hygienic than sticking your fingers into a jar. The only negative is that you cannot see how much eye crème you have left in the bottle.

The eye crème is very concentrated, and just a tiny half pump is more than sufficient for both eyes. The cream has a very gentle orange scent, which is lovely and so subtle, that it doesn’t irritate my eyes.

So how has the Arbonne RE9 Advanced Corrective Eye Crème performed after using it twice daily for about a month? Well, unfortunately I still have lines and wrinkles around my eyes, as well as the puffiness and dark circles are still there. But in saying that, I also did not expect the eye cream to be able to combat the signs of my currently stressful life with a newborn, and in the process of selling our house, which means constantly keeping it clean and tidy and free from dog hair, which is practically impossible when you have two Labradors living inside!! However, my eye area still seem to have been lightened up, and I do feel that the lines look a little less noticeable, and the puffiness and dark circles certainly haven’t gotten any worse.

At $77.00 this is a little pricey, but as it is so concentrated this eye cream will last you quite a while, and considering how luxurious the cream is, I find that the price is comparable to other products of that standard on the market.

What I Like:
  • That it comes in an easy to use pump bottle
  • That it is very concentrated and feels so luxurious to use
  • That it is free from formaldehyde-donating preservatives, gluten or parabens, and has been allergy tested and dermatologist tested.

What I Don’t Like:
  • The price
  • That you cannot see how much product you have left in the bottle
  • That it is only available for purchase through Arbonne Consultants, or through Arbonne online, which attracts a $9.00 shipping fee.

Overall, this is truly a lovely eye crème, and if I had the money, I would not hesitate purchasing it again, also because I believe that if given better circumstances, it would live up to all its claims!
